Another asshole

I actually do not wish to post this one, but with the recent passing of a fellow biker due to moronic actions, I felt I should let ppl, especially the local road users, know how fucking inconsiderate and idiotic some Singaporean road users can be.

It began when my Dear and I went for our annual Christmas shopping and went down to Suntec Shopping Mall for our present hunting. As usual, the festive season will always have the following sightings: crowded city area, congested traffic and not forgetting jam packed queue at carpark entrances. Being a cautious and courteous driver, she kept in her queue and slowly move to the front of the entrance gantry.

Just when we were waiting for our turn to go to the gantry point, one car skipped the queue and cut the lane to squeeze into the gantry. I was like "what the fuck?", this driver is blind or what? Can he see there's a queue and he's supposed to join the queue like the rest of us? What's worse is that his forceful entry blocked part of the exit lane from the other side. Vehicles exiting along the lane had to drive around his car to get out of the building.

What is this guy thinking? Haven't he had a single thought that his actions for convenience are extremely inconsiderate and dangerous as he can easily cause an accident to happen? It's these kind of selfish morons who are making our roads unsafe everyday. Moreover, this idiot has his family inside the car. Such ppl are really not fit to drive or ride on our roads.

They can eat shit and die, rid the world of another asshole who might take another innocent law abiding road user's life away for his stupidity.

A gloomy news

This year's Christmas season is being overcast by a sad news: one of our biker friend Marcus had passed away in an accident in Pasir Gudang Circuit during a track session.

The news was conveyed to me by Charlie. Apparently Hilary broke the news to him first. It was indeed a shock to most of us who actually least expected this. He was so young and had so much to accomplish, yet all these were taken away from him by an immature rider. Although I am not a very close friend to him, he is no matter what someone i knew and a fellow biker. I am no less affected by this news than anyone else. Wish I had known him better.

Rest in Peace, my friend and fellow biker. God bless your soul.

Rotateme V2 is released!

After months of anticipation, the talented developer Samir had finally released the much-awaited application to the public.

Basically, this little app will enable s60 phones with accelerator sensor (ala N95) to work like iphone, which allows auto screen rotation based on the phone's standing orientation.

Little app, but it works flawlessly :)

Sms and make calls on N95.....

With my web browser lol.

Read from AAS that Nokia had released a beta version of PC Phone, a web browser extension that can enable me to send sms and make calls from my PC.

So I gave it a try, downloaded the software and installed it on my work pc. Installation went smoothly but requires a reboot on the pc. After reboot, i immediately launch the web browser and send a sms to my dear. Yes! She did receive the sms i sent thru the browser, so it worked as it claimed to be.

However it is still in early stage of development so bugs can be observed like message log is not updated in real time.

Since i don't have the link with me, interested parties can google for "pc phone"

Found this at one of the supermart and bought one since it's so cute lol. There's popcorn in there too lol.

Team Fortress 2

Finally the game has gone out of beta and released officially, which means I can get this game individually without buying the whole Orange Box package.

Why would I want to spend 60USD for a package of games where I only need one game? So I gave the beta stage a miss and wait till it's officially released. The game cost me 30USD and downloading the game thru Steam is very fast (less than an hour for 1.4Gb!)

After the download, I fire up the game and I was greeted with the opening screen as shown. Gameplay is very fluid with no major impact on framerate, even when I run the game with above average graphics settings on my AMD 3500 ATI X800 rig. Although I was repeatedly killed by other opponents, I did not get frustrated but instead was smiling at the way I was killed lol.

Team Fortress 2 is a First Person Shooter with an animation-movie type of graphics. Player will be involved in objective based matches where you can select one of the 9 classes with its unique weapons. The whole experience is like you are playing in an animation movie yourself. The game can be purchased thru Steam client which can be downloaded at www.steampowered.com

Nokia Internet Radio

I was stumbling on the net until I saw this app from Nokia for download. This is Nokia Internet Radio.

Since I was never a fan of local radio stations since they don't (and most likely never) broadcast Heavy Metal music. And sometimes I do need some new materials to freshen up my ears after listening to the mp3s in my phone for some period. This app will come in handy.

As shown in the screenshots, it is a pretty lean program and works as it was programmed to. I don't have search for shoutcast stations as it already have a directory of online stations for me to begin with. Metal radio stations are easy finds as they are parked under the Rock genre. Firing up the station is snappy as it manage to buffer and stream the music in less than 30sec. You can even view the information of the station and the current song it is playing. You can choose to use this app with WLAN or your 3G/GPRS connection. For those with unlimited data plan, you can benefit the most from this app, but watch your battery charge though.

Best of all, this app is free!

Firmware V11.0.026 for N95 8Gb

Nokia recently released this new firmware just a month after its launch. No changelog had been released but it is only stated that there are bug fixes for web browser and Nokia Maps. What the heck, I usually keep my phones updated with the latest firmware so in less than 30 mins the phone is updated and ready to test out for improvements.

Since the improvements is on the browser and map, I test out one of the applications I used most: Web Browser. In the last version, my browser will hang up after long surfing period but i do not see it in this version. However, I do encounter the browser shut down on its own. This is one irritating bug. They fixed one bug, but create another.

For Maps, the community commented that the loading of the application is slower than in previous firmware. Upon trying, it is true as it now took twice as long to load the app. However, the speed have no impact to me personally since it is not ridiculously slow to me.

Other than that, I do not see any difference in other areas, even the response time is still as speedy as the previous firmware.

As I was preparing for my reservist training, I am searching thru my cupboard, looking for my old phone without camera feature since I can't bring my N95 into the military facility.

Then I managed to find my Siemens 6488 (or known back then as S45) which had been left untouched for like, 5 years. I put in my Sim card, placed the battery and try to power it up. To my surprise, it still works!

Maybe I'm too used to snappy phones with better processor, i find that the phone is damn slow lol.

Warning tone = Java Sound?

I don't know if anyone had noticed it before or I'm just plain slow, I just recently discovered that in order to enable sound in Java applications, you MUST set Warning Tone in your profile settings to ON.

This means that on my N93 the Java application sound is working all the while, just that I'm one of those who prefers their warning tone setting to be off-ed.

Seriously speaking, I really find the connection between warning tones and java sound is pretty irrelevant. So to speak that I need to constantly get those irritating warning tones or I create a profile specifically for java applications.

Frankly, I find the connection link pretty stupid.

My Personal Review on N95 8GB

After a couple of days' use, I thought I might wanna share with those who are still thinking of getting this new phone from Nokia. However, I will also make some comparsion with my N93 phone to show the pros and cons of this phone. Anyway, I'm typing this review with this phone, killing travel time on the bus trips.

Design and Build
As what many reviewers had said, the build is very much better than its predecesser, particularly the slider. While the slider had improved, I still feel some looseness in the slider, especially when I slide upwards. The slide is tight when I slide to Media Player mode. With its black look, it adds a touch of classy look to it. As opposed to what others had commented on the net, the one I owned has a rubber-like coating on the back of the phone, giving me the extra grip on it to prevent slippage. However it does not have that real solid heavy feel as the N93 that tell of its justified high price tag.

The screen is large, about 1.5 times bigger than N93 screen, while the resolution remains the same. When I first use the phone, I felt the screen was kinda pixelated but after a brief use the screen will look just nice and the feel of pixelation will be gone. If you compare the N93 screen with N95 8Gb screen side by side, you will see that N93 screen is although smaller, but sharper.

The keys on the top casing (the part where the screen is) are although small, but not very uncomfortable to use. The tactile feeling is there and you won't feel that the keys are in real bad placements. The only gripe I have is that the pen key is too near to the D-pad and it pose a problem for people like me who likes to select text with such usage combination. I don't have large thumbs so I still can barely manage to use the combination with some compromise of ease. I don't have this issue with my old N93 back then.

Now let's talk about the number keypad. I must say that N93's keypad is really much better than N95 in terms of keypress feel and tactile feedback. Although N95 keypad is not that bad, it still lacks that comfortable feel where the buttons are big enough and the tactile feel is very springy. All in all the N95's keypad feel is still very good, although people with big thumbs might face some issues.

Battery
One of the major improvements made in the 2nd gen N95 is the use of a 1200mAH battery. This will address the issue raised by 1st gen users of battery drained up within a day of usage. I personally did about 30min of calls, 30sms, 1.5hrs of music playback thru bluetooth headset, 20mins writing part of this review and about 15mins of wifi surfing in a day and I still have 1/3 of battery juice left. Note that I enabled 3G Reception and Bluetooth plus set the screen brightness to max.

Software UI
There is some changes made to this phone's software as compared to N93's. While the outlook and functions remained pretty much the same, there's some small improvements made in the software.

Coming from N93 menu structure, icon placement in N95 had made some changes. Owners of 1st gen N95 and N76 should be already seeing this new arrangement, I don't know since I don't own them before so I won't be writing much on this. Overall, the UI navigation experience is not in the least reduced as compared to N93.

With the increase in Ram, the free memory is now increased from 20MB in 1st gen to 80+MB! This is really one major leap in memory improvement in my opinion. To date I have not experienced even a single software crash nor out of memory application shutdown. In addition, the response speed of software had improved, with no feel of lag at all.

The power saver is now set at landscape orientation which looked weird to me as I prefer it to be in portrait mode. Oh well, I made the some changes to beautify the screensaver thru installing a 3rd party application.

One good addition that I like from N95 is the system font size setting. As I am the kind of people who prefers to squeeze in as many words in one screen as possible, the ability to adjust the font smaller is good news to me.

Update: did I mention that in this phone you can now use 3GPP and MP4 video files as your ringtone? Use the freeware SUPER convertor and you will have video tones in no time!

Multimedia
The multimedia key now leads you to a multimedia menu where video, photos, music and web links are categorised individually as Tiles. It will also show the latest played/added media on the top of the list. This is good, as I can scroll thru videos without going thru music and photos. The complaints are that I can't customize the menu as it does not have this feature (as far as I know, if anyone is able to, let me know :)). And the tiles do not display the whole list of selected media but only selected few, which could be from the latest ones. For those who still prefer the good'o Gallery, good news is that it is still there, but thru main menu.

Music player is the same as what would see in 1st gen N95. I paired the phone with my i-Tech R35 stereo bluetooth headset effortlessly and I'm ready to blast my Metal song collection without hassle. I can even control the music using my headset's playback controls. Sound quality as compared to HP HX4700, is almost on par. It has slightly less bass on the audio but adjusting via the equalizer will solve this. Overall, the audio quality is pretty decent. I was never a fan of audio effects as I always listen to songs without effects tweaking so I won't comment on the Loudness and Stereo Widening functions. Synchronising the phone with Windows Media Player is an easy task but current firmware seems to unable to transfer the album art to the phone. Hope Nokia can resolve it soon.

Video editor program had been removed from this model, so there is no way you can edit video on this phone any longer. Gee, I'll miss editing video on my N93 lol. Photo editor is still in this phone and is pretty much the same as what is preinstalled on other N-series models.

GPS
I have not really played much with this feature so I'll just give a brief review. Asia Maps had been removed from this phone, leaving only Nokia Maps in the menu. Guess Nokia is trying very hard to sell its new GPS software. I was given 2 months' free of navigation subscription and have to pay timed subscription in order to continue the navigation features. That's about $140SGD a year! So I installed a trial version of Mapking to test out the function. Locking on to position only takes less than 1 minute with assisted GPS feature, which they had been focusing in their marketing lately. Overall the navigation experience is pretty much enjoyable.

Camera
Camera specifications is pretty much the same as its 1st gen counterpart so I won't elaborate more. Camera is now activated by pressing and holding the capture button since the lens cover had been removed. The application starts up real fast and saves the photos after capture very fast as well. Picture is clear and crisp. For video functions, I had not play around but reckon it's the same as the 1st gen features, sans the video editing part.

Internet
Web surfing experience is a breeze. Defining your access point don't take too much time and you are ready to surf in less than 3 minutes. When I surf hugh web sites on my N93, the web application will hang and then exit showing the out-of-memory error. Not with this one. I can literally surf any sites without worrying about the site size, thanks to the RAM improvements. To date, the application hasn't crashed on me a single time.

That's about what I can review so far with these few days of usage (and also showed that how bored I am during my bus trip -_-)

SMS V2.0

My local telco had released this cool little app, namely SMS V2.0. This is a free app from M1 and no extra charge will be made from using it. Essentially, this app replaces the normal sms module on the s60 phone. Overall, the sms can insert emoticons which will be sent as normal sms message, not mms.

Interested M1 users can download this cute app by typing "sms2" to 8887. The server will return a link for you download the app.

N95 8GB Review

AAS had published a pretty elaborated N95 8GB review which is launched recently. Compared to the original N95, many improvements had been made to the new model (yeah yeah yeah, many had said that umpteen times)

In terms of reviews, the Nokia N95 8GB is relatively simple to handle, thankfully. Not because it's a simple or trivial product, but because the original N95 is so well known and has been written about so many times that there's really little point in going over every function that's common to both devices in minute detail......

Resurrected...

Last year, HP released the Windows Mobile 5 upgrade for HX4700 users. This was good news to users like me since Pocket Office was practically useless back then and Office Mobile is definitely a welcome upgrade to us. Furthermore, its unparallelled hardware specifications were believed to harness the potential in the new OS.

We were wrong.

The upgrade is a major disaster. Because of the compaction issue in new OS, the device performed worse than a entry level PDA. The device ran like a snail, to the point that rendered it nearly unusable. All of us were frustrated. Those who couldn't stand it reverted back to the old OS. For me i called HP countless times, demanding for a solution to fix what they had broken. And they listened. They released a patch months later.

Although the patch helped to fix the problem, but the performance was still anything but justified. It's still running very much slower than its original OS. I gave up on HP for the hope to provide us with another solution to fix the remaining issues. Then i used the device less often other than occasional recording of my vehicle's fuel consumption and occasional GPS use which is a pain due to the sucky performance. The device was almost left unused.

Almost a year passed. Don't know why, i suddenly felt like revisiting the site where the forum discussed abt the PDA. When i read the threads, saw the usual topics....complaints about the performance and shit like that. Then a thread caught my attention: a PDA expert posted a topic pointing to a developer site where a Russian programmer Kozhura obtained a newer base rom of Windows Mobile 5 and modified it to enable flashing to my device, Best thing is, it fixed the performance issue! Without hesitation, i downloaded the rom, flash it to the PDA and guess what, it performed as what it should have performed in the first place! Everything is so snappy and no frustration is felt by me at all. I couldn't be happier!

Then i digged deeper into the developer forums and amazed to find that Kozhura had even released Windows Mobile 6 rom for the device! This freaking rocks! Without thinking much, i downloaded the rom and flashed it to the PDA.

The performance on the device is now very very much better than what I've used a year back. I had found new uses for this revived powerhouse. It is now my PMP which I plays music thru my iTech bluetooth headset (I also noticed that it supported AVRCP functions, meaning I can control music playback with the headset's music controls) and watch divx videos thru the VGA screen. Only thing left untested is the GPS software which i can only do it when I got my next vehicle...

SMSchat

Think i'm a bit slow in discovering this cool app, maybe i had never taken threaded sms app seriously in the past.....until now.

I was browsing thru the symbian sites until i saw a review on this app named SMSChat by Symbianware. Ok, i missed this site for quite a while but hey it's never too late right?

For the clueless, threaded sms is about displaying your sms communication messages with different individuals in threads, much like a instant messenging fashion. This enables you to see the history of your sms communications in very easy and nice way.

The app is not without its flaws. Loading of the communication window is a tad slower in displaying than the built in module but if you can live with that, it's a great app. Anyway it's not really that slow. Good thing about this software is that it actually uses the phone's built in sms modules so whatever sms you sent or received will still reside in the built in messenging apps.

For those who are into eye candy, you won't be disappointed as it supports themes as well :)

Tough Luck....

What a day.

Got a call from MINDEF informing me that I was mobilized for the Open Mobilization Exercise, disrupting my plan of going outdoors activity today with Dear and couple of my friends. No choice, call of duty, have to go back to get my stuff in order to report to camp...

However, I did not managed to make it home.

On the way back to home, I was travelling along the highway, leaving a car length from the vehicle behind. Traffic was moderate and congestion will be the last thing to see in this situation. Suddenly out of the blue, the vehicle in front of me e-braked in a blink of an eye and I follow suit.

As much and hard as I tried to hold the brakes, the vehicle is getting nearer and nearer with the feeling that my tires are losing its grip. Knowing that there's no way to stop the bike in time, my body instinctively reacted to the situation: throw myself out of the bike.

I landed hard on the floor, made a few rolls and next thing I know is to get up and rush for the divider (yes, I was on the overtaking lane). I was in pain, but thanks to the adrenaline rush, I was able to compose myself and stood up to see what was going on. The cabbie from the taxi behind came out of the car and immediately call the ambulance to bring me to hospital. He commented that if he had braked a little later, I would be under his car. That will be a real chilling thought....*shiver* Shortly after, the ambulance came and brought me to the hospital. The doctor was worried that I might have hurt my spinal cord so I was admitted into the observation ward for a day. Luckily, other than abrasions on my arm and limb, I was left with a strained neck. Miraculously, my hands and the gloves my Dear gave me were left unhurt. Must be Dear's blessing at work :)

Guess I am blessed and lucky to able to survive this ordeal with little scratches.

For the bike, its fate is less than positive. the front of the bike is more or less wrecked, with one of the side panniers being torn out from the bike. It is pretty sad sight. Due to the resale value of this bike, it is not worth the money to repair the damages, so I guess this will be the last time I ever rode this bike and declare it officially retired. It has served me a good 7 years of riding thru Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand roads. Goodbye , Silver Bullet, you will be missed.

I will also like to thank those who came to see me at the hosipital, particularly Weiming & Scully (and their cute daughter), AngKuGuay & DaBitch, Fox, Ah Lim, Damien & Sarah and of course the rest who had visited me as well. Really appreciate their concerns. Oh, and most importantly, thanks to Dear for her constant caring at the hospital (muackz).

Some of the scene photos I took before I was hurdled off by the ambulance....

Poor bike.....

Only this scratch on the helmet... Miracle....

That's me lying with the neck brace....

Bored of your default S60 fonts?

I managed to find a application that can change your default fonts to this nice looking one. This is usually done in a more difficult way but this author made it easy for newbies.

No worries about bricking your phone with this as the customised fonts are installed on your memory card so no modifications is made on the system folders.

On the other hand, S60 phones with built in memory card/drive like N91 will not be able to use this as it will brick the phone.

The name of the application is called LovelyStyle.

Big Bikes Exhibition

Since last week I had heard of the Big Bike Exhibition from DaBitch & AngKuGuay, but I did not intent to find time to actually go there. In fact I had no idea where is it and when I asked Damien about it, he had no idea too... haha, some bikers we are...

Just another lazy weekend, and since we don't have much programme, Dear and I decided to shop around in Suntec City. Upon reaching there, to my surprise, I realised that the exhibition is held there! What a coincidence!

So after having our meals, we went to take a look around the place. Essentially, it is not the typical bike show where bike shops are setting up booths to sell their bikes. There are only a couple of booths selling bike accessories and decals. I got Dear a Chihuahua Road Tax sticker for her car (too bad she decided not to paste it in the end)

Here's some of the shots taken during the exhibition:

You can't really tell that this customised bike is a Honda Super4 Vtec!

Price to bring this babe home? $25000! (Normal model is selling half of this price)

VMC Projeck Revolution got a stunt biker from US to perform a stunt bike show for us

At the end of the show, the biker performed a smoking burnout till the rear tire burst.

I had captured a video of the stunt bike show for those bikers who had missed this. Enjoy!

How much more...

Irresponsible can our local driver get?

Shortly after 3 weeks when my bike was knocked over, I came across another bike toppled over at my carpark tonight. The scene is almost similiar to mine. Where the bike is toppled over, with no one helped to lift the bike up. Several ppl passed by, but they just looked at the bike and walked off. So much for warm-hearted and helpful Singaporeans (sarcastic tone).
Seeing that no one helped to lift the bike up, i decided to do it myself. Luckily I am used to heavy bike (my bike), i'm able to lift the bike up without much effort. Left a note for him as well to let him know about the whole situation.

And lastly, may the asshole(s) who knocked my bike and the poor guy's bike get what they deserve soon.

Poisoned with No Antidote

While waiting for dear to finish her stuff, i decide to stroll around the area. The only place that will interest me around here is the famous Sim Lim Square.

To many this is just a normal electronics shopping mall, but to electronics geek like me (although not as geeky as you think) this is an extremely "poisonous" place. The poisons are computer parts, games for consoles and PCs, and electronics gadgets. Seeing so much of these poisons, the urge to get them is really great.

The only thing that is stopping me is the fact that i'm broke for the month. Cash will be my antidote but it's not available to detoxify me at the moment. I even have to think twice just to get a 12 bucks keyboard for my PS3.

Luckily, antidote will arrive in a couple of days and hopefully, it could remove some of poisons that were inflicted to me today. Sigh.

Repeated from the top until 108hours

Environment 1 Typical Family Room
Temperature 73 F
Console Ran continuous for the 108hours with only once incident happening at 12 hours in – a slight vibration coming from the tray area which lasted approximately 20 seconds. For the remaining time allocated no incidents were reported

Environment 2 Back of a Freezer Van – unit was placed inside the closed van with controllers and screen mounted outside, - no one was willing to sit in side the van for any extended period of time
Temperature Started at 50F and was progressively scaled down over the next 4 days to reach 0degrees.
Incidents We noticed a slight sluggishness in playback once the temperature reached 0 degrees , this was maintained for the last 24hours, with 12 hours to go we thought we were going to crash with a sudden , blackout to the screen, this was tracked down to condensation on the cord for the screen.
108hours in and still working fine

Environment 3 Heat Sauna – again console inside and controllers and screen outside.
Starting temperature was 100F and Gradually increased to 120F over the last 24hours.
Incidents Strangley enough we thought this would prove to be the ultimate area to kill the console, and to our surprise the only incident we noticed was a slight burning smell that came in around 64hours at 110F, the console was extremely hot when we finished the overall test but had come thru all environments with flying colours.
This console is now back in a normal environment and working fine.

We believe the only way to kill a ps3 console is

ps3 smash

Korean Made

Got my bike battery replaced couple of days back since it's static charge is getting worse by the day.

Initially I wanna get back the same brand back which is Yuasa, but Norman, the mechanic, recommended this Korean made battery which has some interesting features. It has overcharging prevention circuitry which will trigger an alarm, and also a charging LED which light up when the battery is being charged by the bike.

Although it is not a reputable brand, i don't really mind giving it a try. And at $55, what more can you ask for?

Who needs road when there's DIRT

Checked out the damage system in this game... uber realistic and as claimed by the producer:

"Colin McRae: DIRT's damage system is powered by Codemasters' proprietary engine, Neon. It gives some pretty detailed vehicle and environment damage effects, and the soft body damage system replicates perfect deformation on any vehicle from any impact."

Each individual car in the game is also modelled to a fine degree of accuracy. Each car has specific weak points and strengths, ensuring that they will break, bend, warp and disintegrate realistically and in fantastic detail. Anyway, check out the vid. It also comes with commentary from DIRT producer Alex Grimbley.

That's one game I MIGHT consider getting, heh. Out now for Xbox360. Coming to PS3 in September.

Why Starhub....

Just can't get things right the first time?

When I activated my autoroam service for my mobile subscription before I go overseas, I only came to realise that they did not activate the service as told when i landed on foreign land, where my dear thought something had happened to me. Fuck.

When I subscribed to an additional tv set top box for my room, the stored channels are not what i had subscribed. I had to call them to rectify this. Double Fuck.

When I subscribe to their MaxOnline plan, my network connection bandwidth belongs to the pool for the cheaper plan. Think they could rip us off if they did not go to their site to check the bandwidth huh. Triple Fuck.

And now the bill they have sent me for the MaxOnline, they include the charge for the modem which $500! The contract clearly stated the modem comes free with the subscription. Ultimate Fuck!

Can't they just fucking get things right the first time? My dear called them StarFuck for a good reason (and ya, her starfuck mobile reception sucked to the core in her room and no, she's not living in a bunker but 2 storeys above ground level, go figure.)

Cramped...

Today feel a bit lazy to ride, plus bike needs maintenance which i don't wish to stress it further, so decided to take our Mass Rapid Transit train to work.

I don't know if i had made the right choice in taking public transport, cos what i see today really puts me off.

The crowd situation at the station is getting from bad to worse, people literally have to squeeze with each other so tightly like sardines in a can. People pushing at each other without even a word of "excuse me" to get out of train. Guess the government needs another courtesy campaign to educate the people (well, we are the only country which actually have this kind of campaign to teach people how to be courteous where makes Singaporeans looks like savages dressed in coats and dresses.)

Thank the guy up there that i don't have go through this shit everyday :)

PS3 Photo Slideshow

For those who are waiting to own or not getting this console, I will like to take this chance to show you how the console is capable of displaying photos in a slideshow....in a unique and nice way :)

Woohoo!

The new firmware for PS3 arrives today. As expected, the system notified me of a new update from the server. Tried to upgrade via connection thru the console but connection to the server seems to be pretty unstable as i got disconnected halfway during downloading. So i go the old school method: download the firmware using download manager on my pc, copy the file to my thumbdrive, and insert into the console for upgrade.

The whole process only took me less than an hour and now i have set my fav photo as wallpaper. Plus i could eject disc with my controller without ever touching the console, which will translate into fingerprint-less panel lol.
