Recently I bit the bullet and informed my manager that I wanted to change my job role, to a more challenging one of course. It's a big risk to take at this time considering the uncertainty looming in the company but I thought to myself, it's about time that I move out of my comfort zone and learn something new to advance my work capabilities. And if I don't do it now, I probably will not have the chance to do that again. So I approached my manager, telling him that I had interest in working overseas with different role. Fortunately, being an understanding manager, he and my Line Manager actually counter-proposed to provide me similiar role locally. Of course, I took the proposal.
Over the past few weeks, I had been trying to read on the additional scopes for the new role while still managing my current job scope. As my manager is still searching for replacement to take over my old role, I had to manage 2 roles momentarily. It has been hectic weeks where I have been reading up books on processes and other technical stuffs, but it is definitely more enriching and I feel more motivated than before.
And today I just received a piece of bad news which one of my plans failed to materialise. I felt so disappointed not because it failed to materialise but the reasons behind the failure. Utter despicable acts. Then again, it might be a blessing in disguise but nevertheless I hope there's a day of reckoning for those involved.
Amidst these disappointments, I went for a small shopping therapy since my friends are not able to meet up due to appointments. Well AKG, shopping therapy do works lol
